Are you into Tweets?

Normally, I wouldn't talk about something like Twitter. However, yesterday and today I was successful in setting up a twitter account for the Living Trust Network and, then, getting a new gadget called "tweetboard" up and running.
What's tweetboard you say? Well, it's that little thing on the left that says "tweets." If you click on it, it expands and shows you the latest tweets that were made by the Living Trust Network and/or other people who are following the Living Trust Network.
So, why am I so excited about having a twitter account and tweetboard? It's because we need to keep our members and visitors informed about what we're doing and, quite frankly, I just don't like writing a newsletter every month. Everyone says it's important to develop a good email list because that's how you retain existing customers and attract new ones. Actually, I think it's just a way to sell products and services by just getting in front of people as often as possible. Since we don't sell products or services, we just don't have the same incentive as many other people. Plus, I suspect that many people don't read newsletters anyway.
Twittering or tweeting or however you say it, then, seems a much more attractive way to keep in touch with our members and guests. In one or two sentences, we can get a message out to all those who wish to follow what we have to say. Its not intrusive, you can easily ignore the message, and it's absolutely free. You might think that an email list is free, but it's not. Sure, it's much cheaper than the old snail mail, but, because of spam and other unwanted intrusions into people's email boxes, you really need to hire an autoresponder to handle all the email requirements. Then, you need to put together a newsletter, etc., etc.
At any rate, I'm thrilled to have found what I think is a good alternative to email newsletters. If you already have a twitter account, why not go to LTNtoday and follow us. If you don't have a twitter account, why not open one. Again, its free and easy to do.
Then, you'll be able to catch our tweets right in your twitter account. You can also get our twitter RSS feeds, and, of course, you can always read our tweets just by coming to this site and clicking on the tweets button to the left.
We will have much to discuss over the coming days, so give twittering a try if you haven't already. And, let me know what your thoughts are by leaving a comment below.
Thanks, and here's to twittering, or tweeting, or whatever you call it.
